What is pink eye

 Pink eye - also known as conjunctivitis - is a type of inflammation of the thin, clear rupture covering of the white of the eye and inside the eyelids (conjunctiva).

 It can be difficult to tell whether you like bacterial or viral pink eye or because of allergies or other irritation. 

 But this is an important difference, because while making allergic pink eye, bacterial and viral pink eye is highly contagious.  

Treatment for allergic pink eye is also different than treatment for infectious pink eye.

Allergies in Pink Eye

 Common allergens, like pollen or dust, can cause a pink eye in one or both of your eyes.  Allergies make your body produce histamines.  

Histamines cause inflammation.  In turn, this allergy is the result of conjunctivitis symptoms.  Allergic pink eye is usually very itchy.  

People with seasonal allergies (hay fever) are more likely to get allergic conjunctivitis.

Symptoms for Pink eye or Allergies

Pink eyes (or red eyes) is a condition in which the white surface of the eye turns red or becomes "gory".

 Pink eye can occur in one or both eyes and may be associated with many symptoms, including:

 • irritable eyes

 • Eye irritation

 • itchy eyes

 • Dryness in the eyes

 • eye pain

 • Eye discharge

 • Watery eyes

 • Sensitivity to light

 • Blurred vision

 In some cases, there may be no symptoms other than redness in the bloodshot eyes.

Common causes of pink eyes or Allergies

 The following are the most common causes of pink eyes:

•  viral infections
•  bacterial infections
•  Allergies
•  Chemical splash in eyes
•  Foreign object in the eye

Pink Eyes Prevention

 Yes, it is possible to stop the pink eyes by preventing the following:

•  Wash your hands regularly
•  Do not rub eyes with infected hands
•  Apply a warm shirtcloth to the eyelids for 1 to 2 minutes after waking up
•  Keep your eye tool clean
•  Wear protective ivory
• Remove contact lenses if you wear them.
•  Keep a cold compress on your eyes.
• Other tips for allergic pink eye
•  Do not touch or rub the affected eye.
•  Wash your hands often with soap and warm water.
•  To reduce allergies, wash your bed sheet, pillow and towel in warm water and detergent.
•  Avoid wearing eye makeup.
•  Do not share eye makeup with anyone else.
•  Never wear contact lenses from another person.
•  Wear glasses instead of contact lenses to reduce irritation.
•  Wash your hands before applying eye drops or ointments to your eye or your child's eye.
•  Do not use eye drops that were used in the infected eye in the non-infected eye.
