3.   Eating a balanced diet and following a diet plan are important parts of type 1 diabetes treatment.
4.   Monitoring your child's blood sugar level regularly
5.   Your child needs plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains - foods that are high in nutrition and low in fat and calories.
6.   Encourage your child to get regular physical activity for at least one hour a day and, better yet, exercise with your child.
